Ingredients
- 24 jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, parmesan, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Spread one cup of marinara sauce evenly at the bottom of the baking dish.
- Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture and arrange them in the baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the shells cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
- Be careful not to overcook the pasta shells during boiling. They should be cooked until al dente as they will continue to cook in the oven.
- Feel free to add spinach, cooked sausage, or any other favorite ingredients to the ricotta mixture.
