Easy homemade brazilian cheese bread
Being a very Brazilian recipe and originating in Minas Gerais, cheese bread was created in the 18th century and popularized after the year 1950. Ingredients
- 400 grams of mozzarella or Minas cheese (finely sliced)
- 1 tsp of salt
- 500 grams of sour starch
- 3/4 cup of oil (150 ml)
- 2 units of eggs
- 100 ml of milk
- 100 ml of water
Instructions
- First, in a pan or milk jug, put the salt, milk, water and oil.
- Soon after, take the milk jug to the fire until the ingredients start to boil.
- Soon after, place the sprinkle in a bowl and pour the mixture still hot in the sprinkle and mix.
- Beat the eggs a little and add the dough. Then mix a little with the dough (you can use your hands, but be careful not to burn yourself).
- Soon after, add the cheese, preferably well sliced and continue mixing with your hands until it binds and becomes very homogeneous.
- Take some of the dough and make balls in the size you want and then place them on trays.
- Finally, take the tray to the preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees and it's ready!
Note: to freeze homemade cheese bread, you must stop at step #6 of the preparation method, when placed on the tray. Freeze them while still on the tray, because if you put them in the package before freezing, they will warp and stick to each other.
